Bright was launched in private Beta in January 2020.
Since then, there have been more than ten thousand users who have been using Bright in recent months.
Our team talks directly to our users every month. We love to hear what really works with Bright and to figure where we can do more.
We listen for how we can keep improving.
We improve the Bright app every single week.
So we are always listening for the best ideas to improve the money lives of our users.
Here is a selection of the comments we heard from our users in June and July.
How do our users benefit from Bright?
“I have a lot of credit cards and it is daunting to track all of this. Bright tracks everything in one place. It's like your anxiety goes on auto-pilot. Bright keeps me on track and brings down my debt faster. It's just so easy to use. It puts the scary part into perspective and just shrinks it down. In a way, it just helps me look at it one month at a time."
“Just the simplicity and ease of use is appealing. I feel good about how Bright is managing my cards and it has definitely made some extra payments. I appreciated the automation behind it all and have definitely seen a decline in balances overall - credit to Bright for having done this. Shaved $1000 off balance using Bright!”
“Everything is completely automated, I don’t need to worry anymore, no more late fees. I appreciate the way the algorithms check my checking account to make sure it saves when there is enough money. I love the text messages I get from Bright, especially the ones that say 'Woohoo - you already hit so much of your goal' I’ve already paid off one credit card!”
“I like that Bright takes money from checking and puts it on the credit card automatically. The "smoothing process" happens from the account and I don't have to worry about it after it is done. I love seeing the balances going down.”
“I just love that you take care of everything. For most parts I used Bright exclusively and stopped paying outside of it and I have upped my goal to increase balance paydown since. I have tried other platforms like CreditKarma, Mint, TrueBill, etc but Bright works better, it is a better version of all this. The customer service is great too! My fiance’s horrible at paying his cards. I had to take care of it. It was so much easier after I added his cards to Bright."
How do our users describe the Bright system? Why is it special?
"I don’t need to worry about payments. I know automatic payments can be done by individual banks, but I like the Escrow approach of the Bright Account. It’s great that I can put a cap (Goal) on the amount. It makes paying bills really easy, so I can focus on my life.”
“I like being able to pull together multiple accounts and to see all my accounts in one place. There is actionable information and tracking. I love the text messages I get from Bright.”
“Bright is hands-off. Takes money and without me noticing it - very automatic. No overdraft issues. Collections have been fine. For the most part, credit cards get paid on time. I’m willing to stick around for the journey.”
“I like the automation and I’m paying more than expected because money is set aside. I added more stuff recently to it. Like the visibility of the interest rates of the cards. The value Bright gives is the ability to keep on top of finances without having to micro-manage. Hands off but still things being kept in control.”
“Linked 3-4 cards with Bright. Paid off one and disconnected. I like putting things in autopilot and credit cards paid - Take it off my list. Like the recents improvements - like seeing everything in one place. I linked my Paypal account as well because I am very comfortable with Bright. I’m no longer logging in to check accounts because I trust Bright with it.”

“Bright takes money ‘when I get paid’ (before I can waste it on something else!) You can’t miss something you don’t have. Takes the money but it goes to a good cause. At the end of the day, money is left in my account which I can spend.”
“Love the Bright concept. Always make the min payment. I don’t even think about it. You guys take out the money. I don't even see it. Bright doesn’t forget.”
“Bright has made my life more convenient.”
“Love that you take care of stuff even when I forget!”
What do our users want us to keep working on?
“Getting confused when I login to the dashboard on what has been paid. Not always clear is something paid or 'going to be paid'. Would like more notifications and heads-up when stuff is going to the Bright account.”
“You could improve on the login issues.”
“Would like to add score credit cards and to have a personal loan. I want a view of credit score as 'one-stop shop of finances.”
“I want to delete an account because it paid off. Not just turn it off. I would like to be able to budget in Bright as well. I like the mobile website vs. the desktop site, for sure.”
“Minimum was short a few times - Noticed that a few times. Minimums should be round numbers!”
