Product Manager- UX

Bright Money is a Consumer FinTech company based in San Francisco, USA, and Bangalore, India. It builds consumer digital products that use Artificial Intelligence to improve how people make personal financial decisions, with their credit cards, checking accounts and personal savings.

The Bright team has a strong background in Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences. The team was founded by Avi Patchava (former McKinsey, InMobi), Petko Platchkov (former McKinsey, CommuterClub founder), Varun Modi (former InMobi) and Alexander Seyfert (former Amazon, Yahoo). Bright has raised funding of +$25m from 28 angel investors (incl. Naveen Tewari and Kunal Shah) between
San Francisco and Bangalore, and 4 Venture Capitalist funds: Sequoia, Falcon Edge, Hummingbird, and Oakhouse partners.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Sr Product Manager UX you will help drive the vision and development of our mobile apps on Android and iOS. You will work closely with a passionate, cross-functional team across research, engineering, design, marketing and customer service to deliver amazing user experiences.

Our team is building a personalized, automated financial money management system that delivers real impact in financial lives, using machine learning for better money management. Using data and customer insights, you will lead the implementation of front-end user experience and front-flows, for components of the product. 

The system currently operates for tens of thousands of users, paying a monthly subscription fee. We will expand to more than a million users within the next 2 years. We need to ensure the user experience is a very high level that inspires user delight moments, and minimal friction in the onboarding and usage of the product.

You will report to the Chief Product Officer, and co-founder, in San Francisco. This is an individual contributor role but over the next 2 years, you will have the opportunity to lead a small team of APM/PMs between the USA and India. You will work closely with the Head of Product Design (in San Francisco)

Required Skills
  • Work with Design, Engineering, Business, and Product leadership to implement user experience features and components across the Bright Debt Manager, Bright Smart Account and Bright Credit Accounts. This includes: 
  • Develop in-depth understanding of the users, define different personas through data, user interviews and research
  • Develop wireframes of product UX flows and UI
  • Develop end-to-end view of intelligence UX across onboarding, in-app, notifications and payments experience
  • Document and manage the user experience and journey across multiple Bright products (Bright Debt Manager, Bright Smart Account and Bright Credit Accounts) and user experience (acquisition, onboarding, in-app, notifications, payments experience, success communications) 
  • Regularly benchmark the user experience for the target audience across comparable products in finance and other domains
  • Drive quality concepts and metrics in user experience to improve business + product decisions
Your Skillset
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Design, Communications, Marketing or similar fields
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Product, Marketing or Product Marketing
  • Understanding of front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, Javascript frameworks will be an advantage
  • High-growth Consumer startup experience preferred
  • Customer Insight & Innovation: Ensure that you and your team develop innovative product solutions that are grounded in a deep understanding of customer needs. Demonstrated user empathy and ability to investigate source of user issue
  • Product Delivery: Own your team's execution of the product roadmap, including business cases, user stories, experience design and rapid delivery in an agile environment
  • Communication: Proactively communicate your teams' plans and accomplishments and ensure alignment with senior leadership
  • Customer-centric: using customer insights to drive product and business decisions
  • Strong bias for action: ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Problem-solving: excellent problem solving, documentation, and communication skills 
  • Wireframing: good wireframing skills showing good UX+UI. Working with designers directly to get to high-fidelity designs of UI
