Product Marketing Manager

Bright Money is a Consumer FinTech company based in San Francisco, USA, and Bangalore, India. It builds consumer digital products that use Artificial Intelligence to improve how people make personal financial decisions, with their credit cards, checking accounts and personal savings.

The Bright team has a strong background in Artificial Intelligence and Data Sciences. The team was founded by Avi Patchava (former McKinsey, InMobi), Petko Platchkov (former McKinsey, CommuterClub founder), Varun Modi (former InMobi) and Alexander Seyfert (former Amazon, Yahoo). Bright has raised funding of +$25m from 28 angel investors (incl. Naveen Tewari and Kunal Shah) between
San Francisco and Bangalore, and 4 Venture Capitalist funds: Sequoia, Falcon Edge, Hummingbird, and Oakhouse partners.

Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager who can support the rapid scale up of the business. Our system currently operates for tens of thousands of users, paying a monthly subscription fee and we will expand to more than a million users within the next 2 years. As part of Product Marketing you will help facilitate this scale up, working across Product, Growth, Engineering to drive customer insight, engagement and ultimately funnel performance that enables hypergrowth. 

This is a leadership role with significant scope for additional responsibilities in Product, Marketing or Business Operations, and involves both individual contribution and managing a team.

You will report to the co-founders in San Francisco. You will have the opportunity to build and lead the product marketing function between the USA and India. You will work closely with the Head of Product and Product Design (in San Francisco).

Required Skills
  • Customer insight and research: Great product is not built in a vacuum. You will drive insight and research of customer needs and reactions to our new and current products through qualitative research (interviews, focus groups, live walkthroughs) and quantitative research (surveys, A/B tests etc)
  • User Engagement: How we interact and engage with our users is a key part of educating and inspiring our customers to build better financial habits and build comfort with our solution. You will design end to end communication strategy, help facilitate content creation and constantly iterate on the comms strategy
  • Funnel Optimisation: Communicate with our customers from first ad interaction through to enrollment is a key enabler of rapid growth. You will own the end to end acquisition approach, tracking key steps in the funnel, reviewing performance and driving funnel improvements through testing. 
  • Community engagement and partnerships: Building a community of engaged followers and facilitating dialogue with our customers and influencers is a key part building our brand and scale. You will build a strategy to grow Bright’s presence with existing and new users and generate excitement about new product launches.
  • Create a single voice for Bright to customers: We talk to our customers across advertising, funnel, app, customer service and adhoc messaging. You will create a single narrative for the Bright story and product that will be used across all channels and media of communicating with our users.

  • Customer Insight & Innovation: You will bring real user empathy and understanding of our customer’s needs. You are experienced in conducting user research and can deepen our knowledge of both existing and future customer segments.

  • Communication: You are strong communicator and can both communicate internally (your teams' plans and accomplishments and ensure alignment with senior leadership) and externally (preparing copy, defining comms plan etc)
  • Data-Driven: You are able to dig into data and extract actionable insights. You have an analytical mindset and constantly learn through data.
  • Customer-centric: Using customer insights to drive product and business decisions
  • Strong bias for action: Ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Problem-solving: Excellent problem solving, documentation, and communication skills 
  • Product Development: Experience in wireframing and developing product. Working with designers and our product managers to build product specs and drive to completion.
